Welcome to Hindmarsh Acre Woods!!!
I’ll be posting progress photos here for family, friends, more. Thank you for coming on this journey with me and Ellen. We are so happy and can’t wait to share it with you in person someday soon!
We placed the house so that we’ll have a water view on one side and the woods on the other.
Once the house is complete, we’ll cut and prune the trees for the water view. Every morning, the deer feed along the waterfront in view of the house and water. You can’t really tell from the photo, but the house is about 40’ above the water on a hill. We can see the water from the house and the deer from overhead.
HOUSE DETAILS
The house is a single-story ranch. I designed the entire house from scratch to accommodate our needs.
THE LAND
Hindmarsh Acre Woods is 34 acres, with 6 acres of water access making the total 40 acres.
WALKING PATHS
Ellen and I spent last year cutting paths, building firepits, and setting up sitting zones in eight different locations. We have over 2.5 miles of paths you can walk and sit. The paths go around and through the property. Our firepits are located along the water, over marshes, and a couple in the interior woods.
HARRY HINDMARSH PHOTOGRAPHY
Hindmarsh Acre Woods is full of wildlife!! From deer to ducks to turkeys and foxes, and MUCH MORE!!! I have only just gotten a few chances to do professional shots, but more are coming. Here is a sample of what I’ve been able to shoot so far. Most of these are from a blind I set up on the edge of one of our hills. The land has five different finger hills and elevations that range from water level to about 30 feet. The last picture is from one of my Game Cameras. You can see I’m coming down one of our hills. We have 16 game cameras around the property that capture deer and animals every day
DEER HERD
The game cameras captured 16 different bucks on the property last year. Here are a few from 2025. Our deer herd is about 35 strong, and we have eight new bucks this year and 8 fawns currently.
